About the Presenters

Kyle Johnson, JD, CPCU is an Associate Corporate Counsel at Brotherhood Mutual Insurance Company. He assists ministries with risk management, focusing on child protection, worker screening, faith-based decisions, and church governance. Kyle received his Juris Doctorate from Indiana University’s Robert H. McKinney School of Law and is licensed by the Indiana Supreme Court. Prior to joining Brotherhood Mutual, he worked primarily in the child welfare system as a public defender for juveniles.

Charles Hedman, JD, MDiv is an Associate Corporate Counsel at Brotherhood Mutual Insurance Company. Prior to his time at Brotherhood, Charles served as a pastor and elder at Capitol Hill Baptist Church in Washington, D.C. while also serving as a religion instructor at the Capitol Hill Learning Group. Charles earned his bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Notre Dame and his Juris Doctor from Notre Dame Law School. Charles also has a Masters in Teaching from the University of Southern California with an emphasis in inner city education and a Master of Divinity degree from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Kai Blakeborough is a Senior Research Analyst at Brotherhood Mutual Insurance Company. With over 10 years of diverse experience in project management, legal operations, process improvement, and church communications, Kai brings an ethically grounded perspective to conversations about generative AI for ministries. Kai is an expert at simplifying complex AI concepts and identifying strategic use cases for generative AI tools. He has developed corporate guidelines and trained a dozen groups about responsible use and best practices for prompt engineering.
